Karma, the AI-first operating system for restaurants, today announced it has raised SEK 10.5 million from existing and new strategic investors. The round caps off a breakout second half of 2025, during which Karma reached profitability, won a growing number of enterprise procurements, and established itself as the platform of choice for restaurant groups across the Nordics.

A decisive six months

During H2 2025, Karma launched Karma OS: a comprehensive restaurant management suite that brought ordering, marketing, and an entirely new point-of-sale system together in a single platform built for how restaurants actually operate. It became the foundation for everything that followed.

During the summer, Karma achieved monthly EBITDA profitability. Q3 2025 marked the company's first profitable quarter - not through cost-cutting, but through growth.

"Profitability matters, but our growth trajectory matters more,' said Hjalmar Ståhlberg Nordegren, CEO and Co-Founder of Karma. "We've proven the business works. Now we're proving it scales."

Then the market responded. Major restaurant chains and enterprise accounts began choosing Karma over legacy incumbents in competitive procurements across the Nordics – even though the point-of-sale system had been on the market for less than a year.

"Winning those accounts changed something internally,' said Ståhlberg Nordegren. "It forced us to fully internalize what we're capable of delivering at scale."

The next generation of Karma OS

Last week, Karma unveiled the second generation of Karma OS, doubling down on the vision that launched just months earlier.

Where the first release replaced the fragmented stacks restaurants had cobbled together from five to ten different vendors, Karma OS 26 goes further. It introduces powerful AI analytics and intelligent helper functions that work across every layer of the platform - from real-time sales insights and automated campaign recommendations to operational guidance that arrives while service is still running.

"This isn't about feature count," said Fredrik Stutterheim, CPO at Karma. "It's about removing friction and improving margins. With AI built into the core, our customers don't just see what happened – they know what to do next."

Every touchpoint across the restaurant – orders, campaigns, payments, discounts, kitchen flow, guest behavior – feeds back into the system in real time, giving Karma's AI the context to surface decisions that legacy, fragmented systems simply cannot.

Adding fuel to the fire

The SEK 10.5 million round was raised from existing investors alongside new strategic investors with deep expertise in the global restaurant technology space. The round was oversubscribed, reflecting strong conviction in Karma’s trajectory from both long-standing backers and new partners.

"The interest we saw in this round confirmed that what we’re building resonates far beyond the Nordics," said Ståhlberg Nordegren. "We brought on investors who understand the restaurant industry at a global level – that’s the kind of partnership that accelerates us."

The funding will be used to accelerate onboarding of new enterprise clients and continue investing in Karma’s AI-driven platform. Karma remains focused on disciplined growth and capital efficiency, with the new capital providing the resources to seize market opportunities while maintaining the company’s path to profitability.
